Hamas appoints Ismail Haniyeh as new head, replacing Khaled Meshaal

Hamas appointed yesterday former deputy chief Ismail Haniyeh as the group’s new political leader, succeeding Khaled Meshaal, who reached his term limit, Reuters reports.
