Audience Outreach Lead
Job Purpose
We're looking for an Audience Outreach Lead who can turn relationships into readers.
You'll own Enterprise's outreach programme end to end, developing and executing strategies to grow our readership among senior decision-makers and influential professionals across the region.
This is not an advertising or ad-sales role. Your focus is on building relationships and demonstrating the value of Enterprise as an essential source of business news and insight. Any commercial opportunities involving advertising or sponsorship will be referred to the sales team.
You'll have the autonomy to identify promising channels, test new approaches, measure results, and build a programme from the ground up. We expect an agreed, active outreach plan within your first 90 days, followed by consistent growth in readership among our target audience.
Responsibilities
- Build strategic relationships: Engage senior leaders and decision-makers through meetings, calls, introductions, and other relationship-building activities to grow Enterprise's readership.
- Develop institutional outreach: Demonstrate the value of Enterprise to institutions and encourage their senior teams to make it part of their regular reading.
- Own the outreach strategy: Design, execute, and continuously improve an outreach programme tailored to Enterprise's target audiences across MENA.
- Test and optimise channels: Explore different outreach methods, track performance, identify what works, and discontinue approaches that don't deliver results.
- Collaborate across teams: Work closely with editorial, events, and commercial colleagues to identify opportunities to expand Enterprise's reach.
- Measure and report results: Keep the Chief Audience and Technology Officer informed about progress, performance, challenges, and adjustments to the outreach strategy.
- Build sustainable readership: Focus on meaningful engagement and long-term readership growth rather than one-off sign-ups or mass outreach campaigns.
Must have
- Fluent Arabic and English: Professional fluency in both languages, spoken and written, is essential.
- Proven relationship-building skills: Demonstrated experience winning the trust and engagement of senior stakeholders within institutions, with tangible outcomes to show for it.
- Executive-level communication: Confidence and credibility when communicating with senior leaders, including CEOs and regulators, combined with sound judgment about when and how to engage.
- A relationship-first approach: Ability to build trust and influence people by offering relevant value and insight rather than relying on traditional sales pitches.
- Strategic thinking and execution: Ability to develop an outreach plan, take ownership of its implementation, and adapt based on results.
- Measurement and accountability: Willingness to track outcomes, evaluate effectiveness, and make evidence-based decisions.
- Flexibility to travel: Ability to travel regularly to Cairo and to the Gulf a few times a year.
Nice to have
- Relevant professional background: Experience in institutional or B2B sales, particularly on the institutional desk of a brokerage, or in PR, partnerships, events, or a newsroom.
- Regional network: Established relationships across MENA's business, finance, or policy communities.
- We value demonstrated ability and results over years of experience. If you can build meaningful relationships, influence senior decision-makers, and turn those relationships into readership, we'd like to hear from you.
