Breadfast’s Brekkie and Better are the culinary delivery havens we didn’t know we needed

The platform has long fulfilled its duty and fulfilled it well — but how do its own kitchens hold up?

🍳🍝 Since its launch, Breadfast has, for years, seen to all our cravings and needs — be it through a bucketload of snacks, the weekly grocery runs, or even the latest in Korean skincare. The platform has fulfilled its duty and fulfilled it well — but how do its own kitchens hold up? And no, we’re not talking signature tuna sandwiches or their canned cakes, we’re talking about their own fresh, in-house cloud kitchens.

What’s on the menu(s)? To start things off, Breadfast’s Brekkie offers a selection reminiscent of a certain golden-arched franchise. You’ll find bagels, wraps, and buns in a slew of savory options: caramelized date eggs, bacon, tuna, and even chicken parm, to name a few. You’ll also find chicken pops and fries if you’re the heavy breakfast type. For later-in-the-day munching activities, Breadfast Kitchen — Better — dishes out risottos, pastas, warm bowls, and more, including — but not limited to — teriyaki beef bowls, mushroom risottos, taco bowls, chicken lemon and broccoli meals, and pizzas.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve tried and tested plenty of Breadfast’s meals. Here are our thoughts…

What we liked: The app’s Ready-to-Eat section has long had its hits and misses — sometimes with the same menu items. Naturally, going in, we expected to face a few misses in their hot food menus. That didn’t happen. Each delivery took less than 25 minutes by our count, and the food consistently landed on our doorsteps sizzling hot and fresh. In terms of flavor, we’d score everything we’ve tried an average of 8.5/10. Portions are reasonable — you’ll clear the plate but won’t be craving more — and you can tell every single dish was put together by a pro culinarian.

Our top favorites: In terms of breakfast, the turkey and cheese egg bun and spicy bacon egg wrap were the clear stand-outs: filling and not too greasy. The tuna avocado bagel is worth a shoutout too, but we’re Jared’s loyalists when it comes to bagels. To satiate our sweet teeth, we opted for the Nutella mini pancakes, which got the job done and then some.

The warm bowls are where Breadfast Kitchen’s Better excels: The creamy steak orzo bowl had us ordering another helping just hours later for dinner. Fresh mushrooms, expertly seasoned, heavy on the sauce without being too soggy, and simply addictive. The glazed teriyaki beef bowl is also definitely worth checking out — or the zesty lemon chicken if you’re not a beef fan.

The verdict: Brekkie and Better are definitely upping the game. If you haven’t had the chance to try them out for yourself yet, we’d argue you need not wait a minute more. Whether you’re in need of a mid-day meal in the office or could use a post-9-5 indulgence, Breadfast gets the job done.

💡 NOTE- Menus are available through the app.

WHERE TO GET IT- Both Brekkie and Breadfast Kitchen are available exclusively through the Breadfast app in select areas across Cairo and Giza.
