🍕🧺 If you’d told us a few months ago that we’d be getting our pizza cravings delivered through a “sabat”-like concept dangling from a coffeeshop window, we’d have called you a basket case, but it seems to be the latest trend in innovative food concepts. Non Pizza, a new pizza concept operating out of 929 Specialty Coffee in Korba, is keeping things deliberately unconventional by putting a basket-delivered twist on pizza in Heliopolis’ most food-packed neighborhood.
First impressions: The concept is simple: you stand beneath the coffeeshop’s upstairs window, place your order directly with the chef and his assistants, and wait while your pizza is made upstairs. Payment is done through the basket, either in banknotes or by POS, and around 10 to 15 minutes later, the same basket comes back down carrying your pizza. It’s a small interaction, but it turns picking up dinner into an experience. There’s no dining room or elaborate setup, just you, a window, a basket, and some very good pizza happening upstairs.
What we liked: We tried the pepperoni pizza out of their three-pizza menu. Built on a fluffy, soft Neapolitan-style crust, it immediately felt a world away from standard fast-food pizza, with ingredients that felt notably premium. Handmade pesto was layered alongside the marinara, while crisp, fresh pepperoni provided plenty of flavor and texture. Freshly grated parmesan was added right in front of us, followed by a drizzle of house-made hot honey that brought the whole thing together with a sweet, spicy finish. The result still scratched that pizza craving, but the combination of pesto, fresh parmesan, pepperoni, and hot honey gave it a more considered flavor profile than your average fast-food pie.
The downside: The only real drawback was size. The pizza is comfortably enough for one person, but at its price point, it may feel a little small depending on your appetite. For two people, you’d likely need to order more than one.
The verdict: Non Pizza is less about reinventing pizza and more about making the entire experience a little more fun. Between the window ordering, basket delivery, limited operating hours, and genuinely well-made pizza, it feels like a concept designed to be talked about — and thankfully, the food gives you something worth talking about, too.
💡 If you’re in Korba between 6pm and 9pm on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, Non Pizza is worth seeking out. Just look up, find the basket, and let the pizza come to you.
