Spain face Argentina in the World Cup final as England beat France in the most goal-filled match of the tournament

⚽ Tonight, the World Cup — arguably the most controversial in years — is coming to an end. Spain face Argentina in the final at the New York New Jersey Stadium tonight at 10pm, with the action broadcast live on all beIN Sports channels.

It’s the first World Cup final these two nations have ever played against one another: the defending champions vs the reigning European champions; Yamal vs. Messi. In terms of World Cup track records, Spain took home their only trophy in 2010, whereas Argentina are chasing a back-to-back after securing the cup in Qatar in 2022.

AND- For the first time in the tournament’s history, there will be a Super Bowl-style halftime show with Shakira, Madonna, Justin Bieber, and more performing. US President Donald Trump himself will be on the pitch to present the trophy.

So, who’s got this in the bag? Spain have been the most complete team in the tournament from start to finish — seven matches, conceding just once in the knockout rounds, securing victories with clinical efficiency while Yamal, Oyarzabal, and Dani Olmo have dazzled.

Argentina? Well, they survived… narrowly on several occasions. They came from behind to beat Egypt, Cape Verde, and England in the knockout rounds — the only team since Croatia in 2018 to reach a final without leading in the 90th minute of a single knockout match.

🥅 ICYMI-

To the shock of everyone, yesterday’s third-place match was, somehow, the most entertaining game of the tournament. England beat France 6-4 in Miami — 10 goals in 90+ minutes, a match that produced more goals than any other at the 2026 World Cup.

England raced into a lead through Declan Rice, Ezri Konsa, and two first-half goals from Bukayo Saka — who finished the match with a hat-trick, adding a penalty in the 87th minute for his third. France clawed back with Mbappé scoring twice, and Barcola and Dembélé scoring as well. Bellingham then secured third place for England eight minutes into stoppage time — a chaotic ending to the most chaotic match of the tournament.

Mbappé ended on 10 goals for the tournament, surpassing Messi’s all-time career World Cup goals record of 21 to finish on 22. England claimed third place for the first time since 1966. Bellingham finished as the tournament’s standout midfielder: seven goals, the most by any midfielder in World Cup history, breaking James Rodríguez’s record of six set at Brazil 2014, and the most by any Englishman at a single World Cup, eclipsing Lineker and Kane’s shared record of six. Bellingham could have easily ended with eight goals, but chose to forgo a penalty, giving it to Saka instead.
