Tech, philosophy, media, and more on Dialectic with Jackson Dahl

Jackson Dahl sits down with his guests to unpack their ideas in depth in episodes that often stretch to two and three hours

🎧 Creative minds with fascinating ideas are everywhere, but discovering them isn’t always easy. Host Jackson Dahl set out to spotlight some of the online world’s most prolific writers and creators through Dialectic, his podcast presented by Notion.

What to expect: Dialectic is driven by Dahl’s insatiable curiosity about profound ideas, unconventional innovation, and personal revelation. He channels that curiosity into long-form conversations with like-minded thinkers and, as he puts it, “original people.” Guided by his meticulously researched and tailored questions, Dahl sits down with his guests to unpack their ideas in depth in episodes that often stretch to two and three hours. From startup founders, independent writers, tech innovators, investors to athletes, musicians, critics, academics, and other creative individuals on his radar, Dialectic lives up to its name.

What we liked: In one standout episode, Dahl sits down with writer and investor Nicole Seah for a two-hour conversation about her literary and philosophical writing — showcased on her personal blog — and her latest venture, New Ontologies: a platform profiling future-oriented founders. From beauty and the tension between reality and fantasy to Nietzsche, fiction, and much more, the discussion moves fluidly across topics without ever feeling forced. Seah’s knowledge is strikingly impressive, while she and Dahl share personal insights, leaving room to challenge ideas or cultivate new ones together. What we enjoyed was how the podcast doesn’t stick to a strict Q&A format, but rather flows naturally as a curiosity-driven exchange of ideas.

The verdict: Dialectic is for those looking to comfortably settle in and enjoy listening to unhurried, thoughtful conversations. Its long episodes can seem daunting at first, but we found that time flies if you’re truly invested — and trust us, you’ll find something to pique your interest across the podcast’s 50 episodes and counting. If you’re drawn towards more theoretical and mind-stimulating talks, Dialectic deserves a spot on your listening queue.
