Super Cup showdown in the UAE: Abu Dhabi will be playing host to the Egyptian Super Cup matches featuring Al Ahly, Zamalek, Ceramica Cleopatra, and Pyramids, taking place through Sunday.

Al Ahly qualified as last season’s league champions Zamalek earned their spot by clinching the Egypt Cup, Ceramica Cleopatra lifted the League Cup, while Pyramids received a “golden card” invitation.

Tonight’s semi-finals:

  • Al Ahly vs. Ceramica (5pm);
  • Zamalek vs. Pyramids (7:30pm).

Making the history books: Al Ahly are the defending champions and have absolutely dominated this competition — they have been the victors of the last four events and hold the all-time record with 15 titles. Zamalek have lifted the trophy four times, most recently in 2019. Al Mokawloon, Haras El Hodoud, and Tala’ea Al Gaish each have one victory under their belt.

The Young Pharaohs face off against the Red Wines: Our homegrown U-17 national team is set to play their second World Cup group match against Venezuela tomorrow at 3:30pm. Both teams currently share top spot in Group E on three points — Egypt having beaten Haiti, and Venezuela defeating England in the opening round.

A victory would send the Young Pharaohs directly to the knockout stages regardless of the final group game result. The tournament format sees the top two from all 12 groups advance, as well as the eight best third-place teams.

Another Super Saturday awaits: Matchday 11 of the English Premier League is set to kick off with five matches on Saturday, and five more on Sunday.

Tottenham host Man United in a huge clash between two level teams on Saturday at 2:30pm. Both teams sit on 17 points — Spurs in sixth and United in eighth on goal difference alone.

Arsenal will be paying Sunderland a visit at 7:30pm. The Gunners lead the table with 25 points, while the Black Cats sit in fourth, seven points adrift.

Chelsea will welcome the Wolves to Stamford Bridge at 10pm. The Blues desperately need all three points, sitting seventh with 17 points, while the Wolves are perched squarely at the bottom of the leaderboard with just two points to their name.
