Dainties, a dainty cafe for your large appetite: Dainties is situated in Stella compound in New Cairo whose doors open from 8am to 6pm — ideal for both early birds and late risers. The place gives off a relaxed ambiance, with a display case overflowing with pastries.

Now, onto the good stuff: We decided to share a few dishes for maximum variety. First up, the viral crookie — it’s basically a chocolate chip cookie and croissant love child. Think soft, warm cookie dough meeting crispy croissant layers — a textural party in your mouth. A fun concept and a definite winner, but very large for a bite.

Next came the flat pistachio croissant. Imagine a classic croissant that's been pressed flat and caramelized to crispy perfection. Then, the real magic happens — it gets dunked in a rich, nutty pistachio sauce. Decadent? Absolutely.

But the undisputed outstanding dish was the hashed brown truffled frittata. Let us paint a picture: fluffy scrambled eggs nestled on a bed of crispy hash browns. Sounds good, right? Dainties takes it a step further with luxurious, earthy truffled mushrooms. Each bite was flavorful and full of texture and the Parmesan cheese on top was the perfect finishing touch. There's just one minor gripe: a touch more truffle oil and a slightly bigger portion of hashed browns would’ve been better.

BONUS: They serve lunch as an all day menu, from pizza, sushi, salads, and more.
