Before you head to the theaters to watch The Nun II, you might want a refresher. The second installment of The Conjuring’s spin-off will be landing in Egyptian theaters early September, and luckily, the first is available on Apple TV. The 2018 horror flick set in 1952 is both a spin-off of and a prequel to The Conjuring, exploring the origins of Valak, the evil spirit introduced in The Conjuring 2. Upon its release, it was widely regarded as the worst of the eight movies in the Conjuring universe, but has naturally garnered a cult following since. It follows Father Burke and Sister Irene, who travel to a secluded abbey in Romania, where they encounter Valek, whose malevolence threatens to consume them. Line a comedy up to watch after so you don’t lose sleep.
