The role of state media outlets in championing the cause of the referendum is also highlighted, with AP quoting Al-Ahram Chairman Abdel Mohsen Salama’s framing of the vote as an “urgent necessity.” Voice of America, meanwhile, claims there have been “irregularities” in the voting process while the Telegraph has a less-than-favorable take on what it means for the ambitions of the 2011 revolution.
