Egypt’s Idku gas liquefaction plant should be working at full export capacity by June following linkage to the Eastern Mediterranean gas fields, with exports increasing to 1.13 bn cubic feet of gas per day (scf/day) up from the current 800 mn scf/day, Oil Minister Tarek El Molla told Daily News Egypt in an interview on Saturday. With Egypt working to achieve self-sufficiency in gas production, any surplus will be exported through the Idku plant and the Jordan gas pipeline, El Molla said.
