The Egyptian market has the capacity to produce up to 100k cars a year, Federation of Egyptian Industries’ auto division member Alaa El Sabh tells Ahram Gate. Auto makers currently manufacture between 50-60k vehicles per annum. Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Kabil had said thatEgypt was looking to attract USD 5 bn in new auto investments to ramp up its production capacity to 500k units a year by 2022.
