South Africa was the largest exporter of oranges to China in 2016, with 32.7% of the total exports. “So far in 2017, oranges in the Chinese market were mainly imported from America, Spain and Egypt… Market demand for Egyptian oranges has always been fairly good. The price in February was rather powerful while it dropped a bit in March.” Separately, Egyptian producer Capespan says it is preparing to send its first batch of Egyptian grapes to China, according to Fresh Plaza.
