Some 84 individuals will be tried for plans to commit terrorist attacks

Leading the conversation on the UAE in the international press this morning: A total of 84 individuals linked to the Muslim Brotherhood will go on trial at the Abu Dhabi State Security Court for establishing “another clandestine organization for the purpose of committing acts of violence and terrorism on UAE soil,” according to Wam. UK MPs oppose Abu Dhabi takeover of The Telegraph: 73 members of the UK’s Parliament, including a cabinet minister and frontbenchers from both political parties are calling on the halting of the International Media Investments-backed Redbird IMI’s takeover of The Telegraph, The Telegraph reports. The Abu Dhabi-based company is contributing 75% of the GBP 600 mn price for both The Telegraph and its sister publication, The Spectator.
