THE BIG STORY ABROAD-
🌐 The shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner at the Washington Hilton, where US President Donald Trump was swiftly escorted off stage, is still getting top billing. The suspect has been identified as 31-year-old California resident Cole Tomas Allen, who fired at a Secret Service agent before being arrested. It remains unclear whether Trump was the target of the attack.
In the wake of the incident, Trump used the shooting to bolster his USD 400 mn White House ballroom project, arguing it would be a more “secure building” with bulletproof glass and drone-proof measures. The project has been stalled due to ongoing litigation.
