High demand: The bank’s private placement — which included 313.5 mn of the 330 mn shares on offer — concluded on Monday, with the offering 6x oversubscribed. The bank’s public offering, which includes 16.5 mn shares, began today and will conclude on 3 December.

PLUS- El Sisi meets with Jordan’s King Abdullah to discuss regional developments: Jordan’s King Abdullah met with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi after arriving in Cairo this morning, with discussions between the two leaders centering around efforts to coordinate positions on ongoing developments in the Palestinian territories, according to an Ittihadiya statement. The meeting comes ahead of a Gaza humanitarian response conference set to be hosted in Cairo on 2 December.

El Sisi also held a separate meeting with Qatari PM Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, which saw the two statesmen discuss expanding political, economic, and investment ties, as well as ongoing efforts to provide humanitarian aid and negotiate a ceasefire in Gaza, according to a separate Ittihadiya statement.

THE BIG STORY ABROAD

Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire holds in first few hours: The US- and France-brokered ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah that went into effect at 4am this morning local time has managed to hold through the afternoon, as displaced Lebanese citizens cautiously begin preparing to return to their homes. The Lebanese government, which is set to take control of the southern border areas vacated by Israeli troops over the next 60 days, has urged citizens to wait for official clearance before returning to bombed out towns. FOR YOUR COMMUTE

Today on what’s spooking the crypto world?

BTC’s wild rally after Trump’s election win has hit a wall, crashing from almost USD 100k to USD 90k in a matter of days, Forbes reports. The crypto market is now USD 200 bn lighter from the initial USD 3.2 tn, leaving traders sweating and wallets shrinking.

So, what’s the deal? Bn’aire crypto guru Michael Novogratz says the market’s stacked with leverage, too much borrowing, not enough caution. He also added that “the crypto community is levered to the gills,” warning that BTC could tumble further to USD 80k before finding its feet again. With Trump’s pro-crypto cabinet looming, Novogratz believes it’s only a matter of time before BTC bounces back to break the USD 100k barrier.

To add fuel to the fire, a leaked report suggests a major Wall Street shake up could hit the market next year in the form of additional trading crypto ETFs. This is a likely scenario given the SEC previously shifting its stance on crypto regulation, and the potential appointment of a more crypto-friendly SEC chair under a Trump administration. Specifics remain under wraps for now, but traders are on standby, unsure of how the market will react to another surprise.

What’s next for BTC? For now, all eyes are on how low the cryptocurrency might dip before clawing its way back. Novogratz argues that BTC’s limited supply could help BTC regain momentum once the market settles, hinting that scarcity will ultimately support its recovery, even if the current correction feels painful.

ON THE TUBE TONIGHT

A timeless tale of love, dreams, and second chances

? A sultry saxophone, a dazzling blue dress, and a fleeting moment on a Harlem sidewalk Sylvie’s Love draws you in with its old-Hollywood allure. This romantic drama is set in the late 1950s and early 1960s US, but it isn’t just a love story; it’s a symphony of dreams, heartbreak, and the hopes of two star-crossed lovers as they navigate social expectations, personal ambitions, and Harlem’s vibrant world of jazz.

When music and love collide: Sylvie (Tessa Thompson), a poised young woman, works in her father’s record store in Harlem. Her days are filled with jazz records and endless TV-watching as she waits for a fiancé stationed overseas. Enter Robert (Nnamdi Asomugha), a charming saxophonist who applies for a part-time job at the store.

Despite Sylvie’s engagement, the two fall deeply in love — however, life’s circumstances eventually tear them apart. Over the years, their paths cross again and again, and in each meeting they have to deal with the unresolved passion and tension of a love that refuses to fade.

The film is a nod to classic melodrama, with period-perfect costumes and the dreamy atmosphere of 1960s New York. The film doesn’t place a disproportionate emphasis on race, though the realities of the era are present in the narrative. It mainly focuses on the personal: Sylvie’s growth as an independent woman and the intimate moments that define her love story with Robert. It’s a rare modern romance that will make you feel deeply.

WHERE TO WATCH- You can watch the film on Amazon Prime or catch the trailer on YouTube (runtime: 2:36)

What we tried: We kicked off with the Shrimp Tacos — and let’s just say they didn’t last long. The whole wheat tortillas were light but sturdy, holding a perfect mix of steamed minced shrimp, mixed cabbage, shredded carrot, and creamy sriracha, all topped off with avocado and a drizzle of ranch sauce. The shrimp were tender and had just enough seasoning to keep them interesting, while the fresh veggies added a nice crunch and balance to the dish. Definitely a fun appetizer that was made to share.

Next up was the Pasta Garden Bowl. The soba noodles were warm and a bit chewy, tossed with an assortment of veggies that were fresh, lightly cooked, and packed with flavor. Add chicken, and you've got a filling meal that’s equally light. The flavor was reminiscent of a healthy Asian takeout, umami-packed but not overly heavy or greasy.

The Meat Power Bowl was the next contender, and we’re still thinking about it. The meatballs were coated in a tangy pomegranate molasses on a bed of quinoa-freekeh mix with roasted potatoes adding a crispy texture that paired perfectly with the broccoli. The creamy yogurt herb dressing tied everything together, giving it a cool, refreshing finish. But it was the pomegranate molasses that really stood out, it gave the dish a touch of Levantine flavor, adding a sweet-sour depth to the bowl.

Finally, we rounded out the meal with the Lean Chicken Bowl. If you’re a fan of simple, no-fuss flavors, this is your go-to. Grilled chicken breast, steamed rice, baby corn, broccoli, zucchini, and a creamy sriracha sauce that gave it a kick without overwhelming the other flavors. The chicken was perfectly grilled, tender with a slight char, and the veggies were steamed just right to keep them fresh and crisp. The sriracha added that creamy heat, but it wasn’t overly spicy, so you can actually enjoy all the layers of flavor.

We were so full after the bowls that we couldn't quite make it to dessert, but we did eye the “power treats” on the menu, which are perfect if you’re craving something sweet without the sugar overload. If you’ve got room for something a little extra, we recommend their Greek fro-yo.

WHERE TO FIND IT- If you’re in Zayed, you’re in luck. They deliver to Zayed residents through Talabat, but if you’re outside the area, you can pass by and pick up your order after placing it online, enjoying 15% off for doing so.

Under the Lamplight

A woman-centered intergenerational family drama

? Family secrets, career ambitions, and decades of unresolved baggage — what’s not to love about a multigenerational family drama? Like Mother, Like Mother tells the story of the lives of three related women, each dealing with the messy, complicated legacies they’ve inherited. This book promises drama, heart, and a little scandal.

(Tap or click the headline above to read this story with all of the links to external sources.)

The story is split into three acts, each focused on one of the family’s central female protagonists: Zelda, the grandmother shrouded in mystery; Lila, her ambitious daughter who chooses her career over motherhood; and Grace, Lila’s youngest daughter, who has a knack for stirring the pot.

Lila’s untimely death sets off Grace’s quest to uncover the truth about her grandmother Zelda, who the family was told died in a mental institution decades ago. Grace’s doubts about this story — and her frustration with her mother’s distant parenting — drives her to dig deeper, even as her own life gets messy after she publishes a not-so-subtle book about her family.

The narrative moves seamlessly between past and present, unpacking family trauma, ambition, and the ways our histories shape us. Along the way, the cast of characters expands, with Grace’s best friend Ruth and several other figures adding depth and humor. The novel will leave you thinking about how complicated parenthood, identity, and relationships really are.

WHERE TO FIND IT- Like Mother, Like Mother is available on Amazon.
