⚽ The World Cup quarter-finals are underway this weekend. Tonight, Morocco face France at the Boston Stadium at 11pm. The match is a repeat of the 2022 semi-final, when the reigning champions at the time met Morocco in a match that ended 2-0 to France — a script we’re hoping doesn’t get a sequel.
Tomorrow: Spain take on Belgium at 10pm at the Los Angeles Stadium. The Belgians face a Spanish side that knocked out their neighbors Portugal in the round of 16 with a single goal in extra time.
Back-to-back on Sunday morning: At midnight, Norway take on England in Miami in what promises to be a fiery encounter — Erling Haaland coming up against his former Borussia Dortmund teammate Jude Bellingham, with England captain Harry Kane also in the mix for the first time. Two of the tournament’s top scorers on the same pitch. Then at 4am, defending champions Argentina face Switzerland in Kansas City, having scraped past both Cape Verde and Egypt in the final minutes of each match.
What comes next: The victor of France vs. Morocco meets the victor of Belgium vs. Spain, while the victor of Argentina vs. Switzerland meets the victor of Norway vs. England — all in the semi-finals on 14 and 15 July.
