This three-part documentary meticulously re-examines the evidence gathered at the Ramsey household, interviewing people who were actively involved in the case (and maybe the crime), including her father, John Ramsey, detectives Bob Whitson, Jeff Kithcart, and Kurt Pillard, several reporters, and the prosecutors hired to convict. Director Joe Berlinger traces every police misstep that may have contributed to the case remaining unsolved, and the media circus that threw John and Patsy Ramsey under the bus for the sake of a good story.

Think you don’t have an opinion? Think again. While some may accuse the documentary of being biased towards the innocence of the Ramsey family, Berlinger states that this is because he himself was led by the media to believe that they had killed their own daughter. After examining the evidence for himself, he wanted to exonerate the Ramseys in the eyes of everyone else who was misled.

Don’t expect an answer. While the documentary will leave you with very strong opinions about who committed this awful crime, no convictions were made, and the case remains unsolved in the eyes of the law.
