Politics continued to dominate talk shows last night, with the nation’s talking heads focusing on President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s phone call with US President Joe Biden yesterday evening.

The pair discussed regional developments and tension in the Middle East, addressing concerns about a potential escalation in regional hostilities. The two agreed to “continue their intensive joint efforts to achieve a ceasefire [in Gaza] and to work towards implementing the two-state solution.” Egypt, the US, and Qatar have been trying to broker a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel for months now but with no luck. Abdelatty also held phone calls with his Jordanian and Chinese counterparts to discuss regional developments.
