JJ (Dave Bautista) swaps dangerous missions for a desk job in My Spy: TheEternal City, much to the annoyance of his CIA boss David (Kim Jeong). Now a stepfather to Sophie (Chloe Coleman) in the sequel to My Spy, JJ is trying his hand at parenting while keeping an eye on global affairs from the safety of his high-tech command center.

Sophie, now a teenager, is not only dealing with the typical struggles of adolescence, but also enduring JJ’s attempts to train her in martial arts, which she tolerates with a mix of enthusiasm and frustration. When Sophie’s school choir is selected for a tour in Italy, JJ sees it as a chance to combine family time with fieldwork. However, the tour soon becomes a front for a high-stakes mission involving a hidden nuclear bomb and a plot to destroy the Vatican.

The plot takes JJ and his ragtag team on a mission, including returning characters and new additions across several European cities. Their mission is complicated by JJ’s struggles to keep a group of unruly teens in line while thwarting the bad guys.
