Dos Bros’ birria is not to be missed

Get in on the taco game at Dos Bros. If you’re in the mood for a quick Mexican meal you can find one at this restaurant’s Tex-Mex decaled truck in One Golden Square New Cairo.

We put on our sombreros and dug right in: There were burritos, quesadillas, tacos, and enchiladas — so we opted to try one of each. We ordered the pulled meat (Birria) tacos, chicken burritos, jalapeno poppers and chicken quesadillas.

The food was filling as it was delicious: Birria is not a common dish that we can get right inCairo, but we feel that we may finally stand corrected. We found it juicy and marinated with an appetizing blend of spices. The meat was smokey and complemented by the freshness of diced onions, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime — it gets a solid ten from us.

The chicken burritos were pretty good, too:The tender, well-seasoned chicken fillingwrapped in a warm tortilla was a highlight, accompanied by an array of fresh ingredients that elevated the overall experience. The combination of crisp lettuce, creamy guacamole, and zing of the tangy salsa was a pleasant experience for our palates. While we wanted a larger chicken portion, we found it to be a minor downside in the grand scheme of things.

Don’t miss the jalapeno poppers and chicken quesadillas. There was a generous amount of cheese and chicken in the quesadillas, but it was not as juicy as we would have hoped — albeit still delicious. As for the jalapeno poppers, the cheese pull was real, but we would’ve liked the jalapeno to be a bit more spicy.
