“I didn’t do it,” says Menendez for the second time this month

Dominating the non-Gaza news on Egypt in the foreign press this morning: Menendez says he didn’t do it. US Senator Bob Menendez yesterday pleaded not guilty to federal charges alleging that he illegally acted as an agent of the Egyptian government while serving as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The embattled New Jersey senator has been hit with two federal indictments that involve his relationship with Egypt (among other charges).
