The Expanse game gives fans of the beloved and critically acclaimed televisionseries a treat. If you’re unfamiliar with Telltale, they are the video game developers behind the famous 2012 Walking Dead Telltale Series and the equally engaging Batman Telltale Series from 2016. The Expanse game is based on the show’s premise and takes place before the events of the first season. The devs consulted writer James S.A. Corey — whose books the show is based on — to ensure continuity. Also, actor Cara Gee, who plays protagonist Camina Drummer, comes back to voice her character in another move to bridge the series and game. Playing as Camina, you explore the dangerous borders of The Belt, a settlement in our now-colonized solar system, aboard The Artemis. Their choose-your-own-adventure and episodic style of gaming lets you make decisions that affect the plot and outcome of the game.
People unfamiliar with the show can still enjoy the game. The studio actively worked to make sure that no one felt left out, though they believe that fans of the series will find lots to appreciate. Instead of paying for each episode separately as was the case previously, you can now purchase the whole season as a bundle. If you opt for the deluxe edition, which adds USD 5 to the price tag, you will gain access to a reportedly shocking bonus episode at the end of the season.
