THE BIG STORY TODAY

Shell to drill new gas wells in the Med next month: Energy giant Shell is set to begin drilling new gas exploration wells at its concession areas in the Mediterranean in September, Asharq Business reports, citing a government source. The first of these deepwater wells will see Shell investing north of USD 80 mn, the source said, adding that the seismic survey work for three of Shell’s concessions in the Mediterranean has been completed.

THE BIG STORY ABROAD

The Donald’s second indictment is flooding the international press today. The Department of Justice indictment is the result of an investigation by special counsel Jack Smith who claims that Agent Orange has meddled in the 2020 election results in an effort to thwart the certification of Joe Biden’s presidential win. It also includes some of his activities, along with his entourage and the lead-up to the January 6 2021 attack on the US Capitol.
