Authentic Korean food in the heart of Maadi: Tomato Korean is a quaint, family-run Korean restaurant tucked away in an unassuming spot off Maadi’s Street 233. While the aesthetics leave much to be desired, the food more than compensates for the overall experience, with plenty of delicious options, sizable portions, and prices that won’t break the bank. We recommend ordering the galbi (marinated and grilled boneless rib BBQ), bibimbap (steamed rice with fried vegetables, minced meat, and eggs), and jabchae (sweet potato noodles with vegetables and beef). Their bulgogi and ramen have also yet to disappoint. Although Tomato doesn’t serve dessert options, you’re most likely going to walk away feeling too full for dessert anyway.
