Germany has a new ambassador to Egypt, with Frank Hartmann presenting his credentials to the foreign ministry Sunday, according to a statement by the German embassy. Hartmann was previously the commissioner for crisis management at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. He joined the diplomatic corps in 1993 and held positions in the German Foreign Affairs Ministry, Germany’s diplomatic missions in Beijing and Tokyo, and the UN office in Sarajevo.
