Two commodity trading houses have signed a contract with the Egyptian government to build an EGP 2.2 bn bulk grain terminal in East Port Said, the Madbouly cabinet said in a statement on Monday. Emirati company Rosa Grain and local firm Roots Commodities were chosen from among four local and international companies. The two will build the facility in partnership with the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone). Up to 7.2 mn tonnes of grain are expected to be traded each year through the terminal, which is being constructed as part of a logistics hub in East Port Said.
