CIB CEO Hussein Abaza (bio) has assumed the additional role of managing director at the bank, following the Central Bank of Egypt’s approval, the bank said in a statement. Hussein has served as the bank’s CEO since March 2017, having previously been CEO for institutional banking. He has also served as the bank’s chief risk and operations officers and from 1995 through 2001 was head of research and then MD for asset management at EFG Hermes. Hussein is also a member of CIB’s board of directors.

Mohamed Omar Al Farouk Galal has joined the board of Heliopolis Housing, replacing Hassan Mahmoud Hassan Hussein who stepped down from the position in March, according to an EGX disclosure (pdf).
