Egypt’s telecoms sector is entirely unsupervised and not held to any quality standards as a result of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) failing to do its job, Mohamed Fawzy says. Fawzy points to the frustration many people feel with the subpar quality provided by mobile network operators, and the lack of a response from the NTRA to hold them to any sort of standard. He also speaks for all of us when he urges MNOs to stop spending mns on television adverts and instead redirect that funding towards improving their services.
