A government blueprint to begin transforming Egypt into a regional energy hub will be completed in November, Al Borsa reports. The strategy, which is being put together by a group of consultants hired by the Oil Ministry, aims to boost Egypt’s role in trading and storing crude oil, petroleum products, and natural gas, in addition to providing bunkering services. The strategy will factor in Egypt’s competitive advantages including existing infrastructure in the Suez Canal, the SUMED pipeline, ports on the Red Sea and Mediterranean, as well as LNG liquefaction plants.
