Tebboune names Ibrahim Murad interior minister, Saïd Sayoud stays on at transport

Algeria splits a super-ministry: President Abdelmadjid Tebboune named Ibrahim Murad as Minister of State and Interior and Local Authorities Minister, and Saïd Sayoud is now Transport Minister, APS reports. Sayoud had run a combined Interior and Transport Ministry since September 2025 and now keeps only transport, the portfolio he first took in November 2024 after serving as wali of Oran. Murad, a former provincial governor and national ombudsman, returns to the Interior Ministry, which he ran from 2022 to 2025. Tebboune also named Lounes Magramane his chief of staff.
