Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev yesterday and inked several agreements and MoUs, including a cooperation agreement to enhance trade relations between the two countries. The two sides also agreed to cooperate on mutual administrative assistance regarding customs affairs. The visit was also a chance to promote closer cooperation in the field of civil aviation and air transport, according to the head of Qatar’s Civil Aviation Authority. The visit came as part of a tour of Central Asian countries, which will see him visit Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan.

UAE + Vietnam in talks to strengthen trade ties: The UAE’s Foreign Trade Minister Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi and Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chin discussed strengthening bilateral trade and commenced negotiations on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, according to a statement.
