Find out exactly how much CO2 you’re contributing to the environment when making an online order: FedEx has rolled out an emissions-tracking tool in the US dubbed FedEx Sustainability Insights, which uses near real-time network data to provide customers with information on the emissions associated with their deliveries, according to a press release. The cloud-based engine allows clients to track CO2 emissions for individual tracking numbers and accounts by several metrics, such as transport mode, service type, and country. “We’ve heard from our shippers that they need more data on their shipping footprint as consumers increasingly weigh sustainability as a factor in purchasing decisions,” Brie Carere Chief Customer Officer said, explaining the rationale behind the tool.
