Sabic Agri-Nutrients adds more urea, Elegancia takes on Prince Mohammed stadium job

More urea for Sabic Agri

Sabic Agri-Nutrients is making room for more urea. The company has taken a final investment decision to build a new ammonia and urea complex, handing the EPC contract to Samsung E&A, according to a press release.

The details: The build pairs a 1.2-mn-tonne per annum ammonia plant with two urea plants adding 2.6 mn tonnes per annum, alongside a carbon capture unit — enough to lift Sabic Agri’s urea capacity by 54%, from 4.8 mn to 7.4 mn tonnes per year. The company has already secured the feedstock allocation needed to support the increase through its Fujian project in China. Ground breaks in 4Q 2026, with commercial output due by end-2030.

Elegancia gets a stadium gig

Elegancia will develop the mechanical works of Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium, a FIFA World Cup 2034 venue. The Qatar-based firm, the contracting arm of Estithmar Holding, signed the SAR 829 mn contract covering HVAC, public health, firefighting, and building management systems, with completion set for May 2030, according to a LinkedIn announcement.

REMEMBER- The stadium is moving ahead as planned, with Madrid-based FCC Construction and Khobar-based Nesma & Partners building it under a SAR 4 bn (USD 1.1 bn) contract due to wrap in 2029.
