Good afternoon, all. Just two days in and September is already shaping up to be a busy month for business news.
THE BIG STORY TODAY-
We could be looking at another uneventful Thursday, with our interest rate poll seeing the central bank leaving interest rates unchanged when its Monetary Policy Committee meets later this week. Despite annual inflation falling to its lowest level since December 2022 in July, analysts continue to rule out interest rate cuts.
Remember: The bank left interest rates unchanged during its last meeting in July citing its commitment to sustaining the current trajectory of inflation moderation.
^^ Check out the full poll results in tomorrow’s edition of Enterprise Egypt AM.

Does it constantly feel like you’re racing against the clock?Time anxiety — the feeling that time is slipping away — is a term that has been popping up more frequently in the medical and mental health community.
Time anxiety goes beyond the usual stress of a busy schedule. It’s not the direct result of trouble balancing work, personal life, and the endless to-do lists in between, but an ever-present fear that creates an overwhelming sense of dread in those who experience it.
People with time anxiety may experience it in one of three ways: The first is daily time anxiety — feeling overwhelmed managing your day-to-day. The second, future time anxiety, is worrying about and feeling like you have to plan for future events. The third is existential time anxiety — being hyper-aware of the limited time we have and the amount of things we’d like to achieve in that time.
The problem is that the more you focus on it the more it slips away. Efforts to micro-manage or control your time will eventually heighten your anxiety. Psychologists call this negative feedback loop a form of ironic process theory (IPT). IPT was first introduced in 1994 by social psychologist Daniel Wegner, who described it as a series of “counterintentional effects that result from efforts at self-control of mental states.” The more you try to suppress a thought, the higher the likelihood of you thinking it is.
But it’s not all doom and gloom. Obsessing over time will only worsen your relationship with it, so the first step forward is acceptance. All we can control when it comes to time is what we do with it, which is a good segue into the next step: Figuring out what time well spent means to us. The third, and perhaps most important, step is planning tasks that will fit into a real day. Instead of trying to maximize your time and constantly fall behind, give yourself room to breathe.
Zack Snyder is back with a new director’s cut — this time of Rebel Moon Part Two. This new extended version of Zack Snyder’s ambitious vision of a galaxy at war clocks in an additional 120 minutes, introducing even more computer-generated chaos and expanded character backstories. Unfortunately, all the extra content did little to help the film live up to its predecessor.
The Michael Bay treatment. The best moments in the film aren’t those that focus on people, the ones where explosions reign supreme. This is even despite the extended and surprisingly emotional reunion between Kora (Sofia Boutella) and Gunnar (Michiel Huisman), which was a rare chance for the characters to breathe and develop instead of just being heavy-handed archetypes of suffering and revenge.
Even though JC-1435 (voiced by Anthony Hopkins) is given more screen time, all it does is prolong a repetitive cycle of violence and betrayal. We witness the same tragic backstories unfold too many times, ultimately making us disengage instead of investing in the story.
This sci-fi fable is reminiscent of both Star Wars and Seven Samurai, set against a visually stunning yet lifeless backdrop of the farm planet Veldt. While the added scenes seem to try to elaborate on each character’s motivations, it often just felt like an additional stretch of an already glacially paced narrative. The scenes are long-winded and almost like a video game cutscene, as put by the critics at Roger Ebert, making us want to mash the X button to skip.
But the stand-out moments kept us glued to our seats. The villagers launching their defense against the Imperium reminded us where Synder gets his reputation. The cinematic mastery displayed throughout the film is why it’s still a must-watch despite its shortcomings.
WHERE TO WATCH- You can watch parts one and two on Netflix, or watch the trailer (runtime:2:42)

🍖EAT THIS TONIGHT-
Get your dose of bedouin bites from Legleisah. If you’re craving an authentic slice of Bedouin life but don’t feel like embarking on a Sinai road trip, Legleisah brings that experience straight to Nozha. The restaurant focuses on hearty, slow-cooked meats and well-spiced Bedouin dishes that show the rich culinary traditions of the Sinai.
The mbakbaka, a Bedouin pasta dish that features slow-cooked meat, was a fast favorite. With the smoky flavor of tender brisket, this hearty, comforting dish elevates traditional pasta in a way that even the Italians would approve of. The pasta soaks up the well-seasoned meat sauce, making each bite flavorful and rich. If you love a spicy kick, you can request some extra heat.
Sitting square in your comfort zone? The chicken mandy is your go-to. Juicy, tender, and aromatic and served on a bed of fragrant rice, this Bedouin dish is popular and inoffensive enough to have already made the rounds. Only rookies forget the mandi red sauce. Spoon some onto your rice to really bring the dish together.
WHERE TO GET IT- If you can’t drive over to Nozha for the full experience, you can enjoy it from the comfort of your home. They deliver all over Cairo through Talabat and El Menus.
