Could the executive regulations for the VAT really be coming out in the next couple of weeks? It might just be, as Maglis El Dowla (the State Council) is finally done reviewing the draft rules that would govern the value-added tax and has reportedly suggested amendments in a report that was due to the Finance Ministry yesterday, Deputy Minister Amr El Monayer tells Al Mal. While he doesn’t give us an exact timeframe, El Monayer says that his team will work to “incorporate what they can” of the Council’s input before sending the regulations to Finance Minister Amr El Garhy to issue “immediately.” Maglis El Dowla had received a draft of the regulations early in February.
