The UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) will launch a mobile app and website to alert small poultry producers about related diseases, such as the avian flu, Tony McDougal writes for Poultry World. The service will launch on 31 July and operate through a system of e-mail, mobile app, and SMS notifications. “It will provide a rapid, real time, efficient communication channel, allowing for an effective and immediate action during the occurrence of a poultry disease outbreak, from detection, reporting to response.”
