Interviews with ambassadors in office are usually bland and void of any meaningful insights because of diplomatic considerations, which is why we found Pakistan Observer’s front-page interview with Egypt’s ambassador Sherif Kamal Eldin a bit odd. Asked about the “shared vision of the leadership of the two countries” Kamal Eldin said: “We take pride that the two countries are considered to be two of the most powerful armies in the Muslim Umma, and we both opt to improve the wellbeing of Muslims around the world.”
