And before we move on: The wifi apocalypse to which we alluded yesterday looks unlikelyto come to pass. The risk of a “KRACK attack” is real, but Microsoft has already published a fix, Apple has done so in betas of its various operating systems that are now in testing, and Google is also working on it. As usual, owners of supported Pixel and Nexus devices will get the fix as soon Google pushes it out — look for it in the early November Android update — but others on Android will be vulnerable until their device manufacturer fixes it.
