Infinity Solar is scheduled to launch operations and connect 50 MW of power produced at its Benban solar power plant to the national grid within days, the company’s financial division manager Mohamed Shehata tells Al Borsa. The company will begin with trial operations, and is expected to officially connect the plant to the grid by the end of the month, according to president of XD-EGEMAC, which operates transmission stations in Aswan, Medhat Ramadan. The launch will make Infinity the first company to complete a solar power plant under the feed-in tariff program, which has attracted upwards of USD 1.8 bn in foreign funding.
