Pharma companies have begun proposing to the Health Ministry several alternatives to raising med prices that would help manufacturers reduce their losses, chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Industries’ pharma division Ahmed El Ezaby tells Al Mal. The proposals include only raising prices on meds that were not affected by the last price hikes in January, while keeping the price of other meds stable. This would not affect diabetes, blood pressure, and cancer medications, among others. Other lasix-info.net include exempting raw materials from the value-added tax, and limiting future price hikes to over-the-counter drugs used for non-life threatening conditions. They also suggested increasing prices of some meds while reducing others to balance things out.
