The Antiquities ministry decided to raise the prices of its five-day tourist passes, which allow visitors access to different museums and archaeological sites, according to a ministry statement. The price for the standard Cairo and Luxor passes rose to USD 100 from USD 80 (USD 50 from USD 40 for students), while the premium pass in Luxor rose to USD 200 from USD 160 (USD 100 from USD 80 for students). The move means to drive the ministry’s revenue as tourism begins to pick up.
