Egypt will begin exporting fruits and vegetables to Japan after quarantine officials from both countries reached an agreement on quality and safety standards, Agriculture Minister Ezzedin Abou Steit said, according to the State Information Service. Crops set for export include potatoes, garlic, watermelons and dates. Agriculture officials have been targeting new export markets lately and are eyeing countriesin East Asia as potential export markets for products include dates, grapes, and pomegranates.
