Immunotherapy is most commonly used in cancer treatment, where targeted antibodies, cancer vaccines, adoptive cell transfer and tumor-infecting viruses might all be used to prevent the spread of cancer, according to the Cancer Research Institute. Researchers at Yale are currently working to target cancerous cells more effectively. Some test trials have shown success, and opening up potentially better alternatives to radiation therapy.
