Pharos Energy has confirmed its interest in purchasing Shell’s onshore oil and gas assets in Egypt’s Western Desert as part of a consortium, and has said ina filingto the London Stock Exchange it is in the initial stages of evaluation. The interest doesn’t necessarily guarantee that a proposal will be made to Shell or that a transaction will take place, the company said. We took note of the story late last month.
