Prices for pretty much everything have risen over the last few years — and that includes tipping, notes the New York Times in a deep dive into how tipping culture in Egypt has changed amid high inflation and a tough economy for many. Tipping is increasingly being relied upon by low-wage workers to make ends meet and the practice is spreading to professions that historically weren’t part of the process, notes the US paper of record.
