⚽ PSG reigns supreme. PSG has proved itself as a football powerhouse to be reckoned with, after demolishing the powerful and star-studded Real Madrid with a clean 4-0 victory in yesterday’s Club World Cup semi-finals.
Enrique’s PSG took hold of the match and all but toyed with Alonso’s Real Madrid. This was evident in both ball possession and the number of big chances created by both sides.
We now have our top two finalists. Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea — who qualified two days prior after defeating Fluminense — will go head-to-head in the Club World Cup finals, kicking off on Sunday at 10pm.

IN THE WORLD OF TENNIS-
🎾 Wimbledon’s final four now set. The semi-finalists for the Wimbledon Championships have been revealed, leaving us just hours away from the semi-final clashes before this year’s champions are crowned.
Women’s singles-
Bencic inspires. Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic stole the spotlight yesterday after defeating seventh seed Mirra Andreeva in straight sets (7-6, 7-6), reaching the Wimbledon final lap for the first time in her career. Bencic had been away from the courts for about a year before giving birth and deciding to return, eyes set on victory. Were Bencic to secure victory, she would become the first mother to do so since the 1980s.
New faces in the final four. Poland’s Iga Świątek, world No. 8, qualified for the first time in her career yesterday, after defeating Russia’s Liudmila Samsonova in straight sets (6-2, 7-5) in a match that lasted just under the two-hour mark.
Today’s semi-final matches:
- Aryna Sabalenka (1) vs. Amanda Anisimova (13) (3:30 PM).
- Belinda Bencic (35) vs. Iga Świątek (8) (4:30 PM).
NOTE- Match start times may vary depending on previous match schedules.
The Wimbledon women’s singles final will take place on Saturday, where the victors of today’s matches will meet on Centre Court. The exact match time, however, is yet to be determined.
Men’s singles-
Despite injury, the spotlight remains on Sinner. World No. 1, Jannik Sinner, managed to secure victory in his match yesterday against US’s Ben Shelton, securing all three sets (7-6, 6-4, 6-4). The victory came despite an elbow injury he had sustained earlier in the tournament.
The Serb makes history. World No. 6, Novak Djokovic, defeated Italy’s Flavio Cobolli with a score of (6-7, 6-2, 7-5, 6-4) in yesterday’s match. In doing so, Djokovic becomes the player with the most Wimbledon semi-final appearances in men’s singles in history. The seven-time champion can only hope that the fall he suffered during the final minutes of yesterday’s match will not impact his upcoming encounter with Sinner.
Old school vs. new. The world No. 1 has triumphed over Djokovic in their last four encounters, with the most recent being their semi-final match at Roland Garros. Djokovic has his work cut out for him as he faces off against Sinner once more — who’s potentially on his way to achieving a new record if he secures his eighth championship victory.
Tomorrow’s semi-final matches:
- Jannik Sinner (1) vs. Novak Djokovic (6) (Time TBD).
- Carlos Alcaraz (2) vs. Taylor Fritz (5) (Time TBD).
