Ramadan brings not just spiritual fulfillment, but also some of the year’s most exciting entertainment, delicious food, and memorable moments. So what made Ramadan extra special this year? Here’s our roundup of standouts.

#1- ACTOR OF THE MONTH

Behind every compelling Ramadan drama is a performer whose talent brings stories to life. This category celebrates the performer who had us glued to our TVs night after night, delivering unforgettable scenes that became the talk of family gatherings and social media alike.

BEST ACTOR: Diab — Albi W Moftaho

Diab stood out amongst other protagonists as As’ad, a controlling man with a larger-than-life presence who we all loved to hate. His convincing performance kept audiences glued to their screens throughout the month.

HONORABLE MENTION: Mohamed Shahine — Lam Shamsiyya

Taking this challenging of a role was a bold decision, adding to Shahine’s diverse repertoire. His portrayal of Wessam, a psychologically disturbed molester, was as exceptional as it was disturbing, making for a performance worthy of recognition.

#2- ACTRESS OF THE MONTH

There was no shortage of charm, depth, and talent on our screens this year from the leading ladies of Ramadan. This title goes to the actress whose performance captivated audiences throughout the holy month, whether through comedy that had us laughing between bites, or drama that kept us hooked until suhoor.

BEST ACTRESS: Hoda El Mufti — 80 Bako

El Mofti brought Bosy to life with refreshing — and surprising — authenticity. Playing a struggling girl from humble beginnings, El Mutfi managed to be relatable without falling into stereotypes or overacting — a balance that made her performance stand out in a crowded field.

HONORABLE MENTIONS: Kinda Alloush — Ekhwati and Entisar — 80 Bako

The women really shone this season both in front and behind the camera. Alloush as Nahed in Ekhwati and Entisar as Lola in 80 Bako both delivered memorable performances.

#3- BREAKOUT TALENT

Ramadan is prime time to introduce fresh faces to the pantheon of Egyptian talent. This category spotlights the newcomer who burst onto the scene this Ramadan, immediately winning hearts and establishing themselves as stars to watch in the coming years.

BREAKTHROUGH TALENT: Donia Sami — 80 Bako, Nos El Sha’b Esmo Mohamed, El Nos, Kamel El ‘Adad++

Sami proved herself to be an endearing actress with perfect comic timing with multiple appearances throughout Ramadan, including Faten in 80 Bako, Naglaa in Nos El Sha’b Esmo Mohamed, and Ayesha in El Nos. Even her brief appearance in Kamel El ‘Adad++ had the audience laughing and entertained.

HONORABLE MENTION: Ali El Beili — Lam Shamsiyya

Child actor Ali El Beili stole scenes as Youssef, impressing everyone with his range and exceptional talent. His performance matched those of the seasoned professionals by his side, and brought a sincerity and innocence that touched viewers’ hearts.

#4- BEST COMEDY

Ramadan TV is practically a competitive sport, with networks and streaming platforms bringing their A-game, and audiences planning their evenings around must-watch programs. This title goes to the show that brought genuine laughs to our tables, featuring characters we couldn’t help but love, and made waiting for iftar a little easier.

WINNER: 80 Bako

This show masterfully balanced light comedy with meaningful social drama, becoming something of an emotional rollercoaster each episode. The comedic elements shined thanks to talented performers like Rahma Ahmed, Khaled Mokhtar, and stand-up comedian Walid El Maghazi.

HONORABLE MENTION:Ashghal Shaqa Gedan

Ashghal Shaqa continued its successful run for its second year in the Ramadan lineup. Mostafa Gharib’s character Arabi continued to be a fan favorite, thrilling audiences who couldn’t get enough of his spontaneity, improvisational skills, and sharp humor.

#5- BEST DRAMA

This award goes to the series that delivered the most compelling storylines, complex characters, and emotional moments that had us texting friends and family with theories and reactions after every episode.

WINNERS: Zolm El Mastaba and Lam Shamsiyya

This season featured exceptional storytelling. Lam Shamsiyya tackled the often-silenced issue of child molestation with sensitivity and care. Equally powerful was Zolm El Mastaba, which made a strong impact with its realistic portrayal of negative social inheritances through a gripping narrative.

#6- WORST TV SHOW

Not every Ramadan series can be a winner. This category recognizes the show that — despite big budgets, star power, or heavy promotion — just didn’t deliver. Whether it was disappointing storylines, wooden acting, or simply a premise that we couldn’t take seriously, this is a program we all watched just to complain about later.

WINNER: El Atawla

Al Atawla transformed from being an engaging blend of drama and farcical comedy in season one to a chaotic absurdist venture in season two. Despite clear attempts to spark viral buzz, the show struggled to maintain online traction beyond the few first episodes. The creators abandoned narrative coherence, instead relying on increasingly desperate inside jokes and improvised sequences that rarely landed.

#7- BEST RAMADAN COMMERCIAL

The ads that run during Ramadan can sometimes be better than the programs they interrupt. This category honors the commercial that won our hearts, made us laugh, or moved us to tears.

WINNER: B.Laban

B.Laban broke the mold with a refreshingly unconventional ad featuring beloved comedian Akram Hosny as brand ambassador. Rather than following the traditional playbook of family gatherings and nostalgia, the brand (watch, runtime: 1:25) took a boldly iconic stance — apologizing for their overwhelming success. Hosny’s signature charm saw the ad quickly go viral, earning 8.6 mn views on YouTube and 19.8 mn on TikTok. By celebrating its quirks and claiming its position as an industry trend-setter, B.Laban created one of the season’s most distinctive and effective advertisements this Ramadan.

#8- BEST OPENING THEME

It’s not often you watch through the opening credits instead of skipping them, and the tunes that created the perfect mood for the episodes that followed, from haunting melodies to upbeat anthems, deserve recognition.

WINNER: Welad El Shams

Bahaa Sultan’s performance of Sahbi was an instant hit. With its catchy melody and lyrics, it topped Spotify’s most-listened charts during Ramadan and was an earworm for most people whether they had watched the show or not.
