While this does sound like the premise of a Hollywood thriller, the episodes make it clear that these kill lists do in fact exist and the people on them are in some very real danger. Miller and Christ Monteiro — the IT expert who found the website— attempt to warn these potential victims and are surprised to find themselves met with skepticism from law enforcement.

How do you tell someone they're on a dark web kill list? Miller takes on the role of a messenger and deals with the psychological toll of delivering the news to these strangers, leading to the involvement of the FBI.

We get some insight into human nature through patterns that appear on the kill lists. Most of the targets are women listed by their ex-husbands and boyfriends, adding nightmarish betrayal to the already shocking case.
