The series opens up with Muncie waking up in the woods with an injured leg. The audience is as blindsided as the protagonist, who’s not sure how he wound up there. This sets the stage for a survival story riddled with physical and intellectual challenges. Domingo’s performance as a protagonist was incredible, pushing the audience to root for him through all the chaos and confusion.

What we liked: The plot is entirely plausible. Unlike other thrillers that force us to suspend disbelief, The Madness maintains a sense of realism — from Muncie’s ability to escape the attackers to the law enforcement’s doubts about him. This is the tale of a Black man wrongfully accused of murder in a racially charged environment — a social theme that was integrated intelligently without seeming forced or over-the-top.
